In my attempt to find an annoying scrolling error in the Avalon skin I think I may have come across a bug, reproduced on 5 machines (1 standalone, 2 clients, 2 standalone with no tv and all 1.2.0RC).

    To reproduce..
1 - Run Mediaportal in Debug mode (basic or classic menu)
2 - access the videos plugin (or music)
    3 - press escape
4 - access videos plugin (or music)
5 - repeat 20 to 40 times. (varies on different machines)
    6 - close Mediaportal
    7 - Crash!

When running Mediaportal while watching task manager and performing above steps, mediaportal.exe gradually increases in memory from ~20,000K to ~70,000K. When you close, memory shoots up to around ~300,000K and then crashes.

Logs attached from my main HTPC client.

Hope this is everything you need. Any help much appreciated :)

Could you try un-checking the "enable file existence cache" option under GUI and see if it still happens then?

not really sure why in logs this is trying to check when files are created/deleted in follders like
    Code:
    2011-09-17 00:29:06.513239 [Debug][(9)]: fileSystemWatcher_Created file \\lichloathe\c\Windows\Temp\#sql16c_7_1b.MYI
    2011-09-17 00:29:06.514239 [Debug][(9)]: fileSystemWatcher_Created file \\lichloathe\c\Windows\Temp\#sql16c_7_1b.MYD
    2011-09-17 00:29:06.519239 [Debug][(9)]: fileSystemWatcher_Deleted file \\lichloathe\c\Windows\Temp\#sql16c_7_1b.MYI
    2011-09-17 00:29:06.520239 [Debug][(9)]: fileSystemWatcher_Deleted file \\lichloathe\c\Windows\Temp\#sql16c_7_1b.MYD
    and
    Code:
    2011-09-17 00:28:24.028809 [Debug][(19)]: fileSystemWatcher_Created file \\lichloathe\c\Program Files\Kerio\MailServer\store\mail\43cambridge.com\michael\Notes\status.fld.new

Thanks for the reply Jameson, yes I have tried that option and no luck.
I will be posting another set of logs in about 8 hours from a clean standalone machine (isolated from network/internet) with the same result.
Those fileSystemwatcher messages will be non existent.

Dang... I thought I was screwing something up. Has happened a couple times to me on exit after watching TV (and a day of others doings). The drive light comes on constant for several minutes (me thinking some memory was being cleared) ... then MP just hangs. I have to kill it with task manager, then an error box pops up apologizing for the inconvenience. I figured if I just left it alone I wouldn't have any problems.

I'll try to get some logs later when I have time.

    Chuck

I have attached another set of logs if this helps, it's from a standalone laptop running MP in debug mode with no network attached.
    Cheers

I have tested these sections: Music, Pictures, Videos, Radio, Weather and TV. These sections cause crash (increasing memory consumption and after close MP huge increase memory consumption and crash): Music, Pictures, Videos, Radio. The Weather section doesn't increase memory consumption. The TV section increase memory consumption (small values), but closing is without increasing memory consumption and without crash.
