Possible to use a different TV splitter? (1 Viewer)

I have some under-powered hardware running MP1.2. Using DSGraphEdit and an MP recording I found I was able to get much better playback using Haali or MainConcept MPEG Demultiplexer. My DirectShow merits seem OK; when I render a .ts recording in DSGraphEdit it uses the splitter I want. However, the remote graph of an MP channel preview (in TV Configuration) always uses tsreader. If I unregister tsreader.ax, the preview window just never shows. Is it possible to use a different splitter for the TV buffer?

    Hi travis_san

No, TsReader is a core component of MediaPortal. It is used for splitting all TS files which includes timeshifting and recording files.

Does the splitter really make that much difference to the playback, and are we talking difference in picture quality, CPU usage, GPU usage or something else?

My guess would be that it is actually the codecs that are making all the difference. You can set the codecs that are used in MediaPortal configuration as described -->here<--.
