Hi,

I'm using an HP MCE remote kit (USB IR receiver + IR remote) on Windows 7 x64 with Mediaportal 1.2 FINAL.

It seems to be working fine, except for the red power button. I understand that it's mapped as "Power TV" in the MCE remote mapping setup, but I can't get it working.

I've uninstalled Windows Media Centre so that's not interfering. I'm using MPTray, but I have the same problem if I disable it.

I've tried assigning other functions to that button, and that didn't work. I've also tried assigning the shutdown or exit mediaportal function to other buttons, and they did work. The button works fine in LM Remote, but I'd prefer not to use it.

I can live without this button, but I'd really like to get it working.

Thanks.

EDIT: Looks like MPTray also stops the up/down/left/right/OK buttons (and maybe some others) from working. They work fine with MPTray closed, but the Power button still doesn't.

Hi,

I have a Sony MCE remote and the power button is not actually a power button (Although it looks like one), its a "Sleep" button. Every time i pressed it it just sent the machine to sleep no matter what i mapped for it in MP. Eventually i figured out it was Sleep button rather than the "Power TV" button and change the sleep button function in advanced power options in control panel in windows 7. Now when i press the button it Hibernates my machine which is what i wanted. think you can set it shut down and one of the settings is "Do Nothing" which yours could be set to!?.

Not sure if this is the same with your remote but just thought i'd mention after spending hours trying to map it myself

Yes, my power and sleep buttons are mapped to "Do Nothing". Did that after accidentally hitting the 'Power' key on my keyboard a few times.

I'd like to be able to set the remote's power button individually though. LMRemote can handle it, so looks like I'll have to come up with some kind of workaround.

Thanks.
