same happens to me. installed powerdvd 11 a no codec apeared, but then i tried saf 6 with powerdvd 11. codec is no available but i have the same problem (live tv crashes mepo).

Now i'm using gabest (sd) and ffdshow (hd).....

do anyone know if the powerdvd 11 codec are working with a ati hd 4250??

No idea about 4250, but it works just fine with both 3450 and 6570 using 'CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD11)' for both mpeg2 and h.264 and currently LAV for audio. Do note that I don't use SAF.

You need to use unlocked SAF to have PDVD11 decoder.

just use some tool such as FilMerit to raise the PDVD11 decoders' Merit to prefered. (run the tool as an Administrator)
Its original merit is set to low to be of use outside of PowerDVD.
I guess Hoborg prefers that you use his codecpack instead of teaching others anything useful.
