Power off STB at pc-shutdown (2 Viewers)

I'm using MediaPortal with Hauppauge PVR-150 and the supplied remote (non-MCE, but standard Hauppauge remote). The Hauppauge IR Blaster is controlling the settopbox from my cable provider. Most things work like a charm, just working out the last wrinkly wrinkles.

How do I get the IR Blaster to send a Power Off signal to the settopbox when the computer shuts down?

Is there a way in MediaPortal? According to this thread, there is no event available in MediaPortal for this.
But then, any ideas for a workaround? I've been searching but can't find anything. I was thinking in the lines of using HIP.

If you guys can point me to a quick&easy solution I would be very grateful!

I've spoken emphyrio about settings up something like this, and while there is nothing to do the more complicated on/off control of the STB that we originally discuess. You could certainly use IR Server Suite to power the STB on/off on suspend/resume or shutdown and boot up.

I think MCE Replacement Plugin has enough in there to do that to, but I'd have to double check.

Thanks for the replies. Does IR Server Suite support the standard non-MCE 45-button Hauppauge remote? I didn't see it listed. Or is it perhaps compatible with one of the other devices?

No it doesn't support that device at the moment. I do intent to support it in the future, but I just haven't had a chance to get it working yet.

Once I get the MCE remote device support 100% I'll try to get this one in.

Without fully investigating I can't be 100% sure. But generally speaking it would be wise to try and use the drivers first and foremost. So at least my first attempt at supporting it would be through the drivers supplied.

Damm..not your fauly, don't worry! It's Hauppauge's fault but they won't take a look at it

So I went out and bought myself a Microsoft MCE Remote 2005.
Completely configured it with IR Server Suite, works excellent now, it's blasting away...

Only thing I can't get working is: sending the power off signal to the STB!
What I did: I created a macro 'Shutdown PC and STB'. Just two actions: blast Power to STB and then Shutdown. When I click the Test button it works fine, STB turns off. Then I mapped the macro to the Power2 button. When I start this from Mediaportal, I see something is being transmitted to the STB, but it doesn't shut off.

Can you give me some hints?
