Power save mode (1 Viewer)

I have a Windows MCE computer that runs Mediaportal, while also being used for "ordinary computer stuff". I would like to set it up to use power save modes (standby/hibernate) and have some questions:

1) What happens if I setup power scheduler to enter power save? Will the computer go into standby/hibernate if Mediaportal is idle, even while I am using other applications on the computer?

2) What happens if I let Windows handle the power save modes? Will the computer go into standby/hibernate if I am not around, even though Mediaportal is recording something?

3) Are there any known issues with the power scheduler in version 0.2.2.0?

Thanks
Jan

    Hi janbo,

    1. Yes it will, see more below.

    2. I think so, I'm not sure.

    3. I think it works just fine. I do not use the new TVserver though so this is based on the standard config. I use a fairly recent SVN.

I use the plugin "Watchdog" developed by BartManson. I keeps an eye on certain processes and prevent stand-by/hibernation by the PowerScheduler. I have added Internet Explorer and Firefox to the monitored processes.

I also created a small bat-script called "KeepMPAwake" that I start when I need to work in Windows and don't want MP to shutdown. The script is simply the "pause" command...
