have somebody accually got their HTPC computer to powerup/turn on via another computer - via the internet?

I have read the documentation about this issue from the WEB-EPG programmer "lordmessi" (see www.mp-webinterface.com) but can't get it to work!

I need this function so that my HTPC don't have to be turned on all the time during normal daytime... at this moment it is turned on so that i can program it via the WEB...

Yes, I have my HTPC set to wakeup (from S3 - standby) when the NIC receives the "magic packet" from another PC - works beautifully.... :D.... however, this is only over my local network - not via the internet, yet.

You need to enable WOL in your BIOS or on your network card if its a separate entity. Then you need some software to send the so called magic packet. If you're behind a router you need to send the magic packet to your public IP and have the appropriate port forwarded to all PCs, it will only work on the one that is sleeping. Oh and you will also need the MAC address of the recieing PC, see the following link for more info
