I want to build a multiseat server with the following specs
2 or 4 DVB-C anysee C30 Plus reciever (USB)
maybe some DVB-T USB reciever(s)
In my research I have seen that Anysee and DVB-T should work maybe a softcam solution so I can watch the encrypted DVB-T (digitenne) channels..
Now I have also a collection of Movies stored on a NAS .. currently Network is all Intel/Cisco and certified for full duplex gigabit connections..
I have also some Android and Apple (ipod toch) devices and DNLA enabled TV(s)
My questions are:
can I stream Blu-ray and other movies stored on the NAS directly to andriod/Ipod and my DNLA TV .. ? yes Transcoding is preferable. I am concerned the CPU is going to "burn out"
doing the transcoding part..
the more tasks a "GPU or other device can offload the better"
IPimp plugin, might ease the configuration but how easy is it to switch (zap) from channel to channel using a Windows media player/android/Ios or DNLA enabled device ?
Can I pause and Play when ever I want .. ?
I know the Media Portal Client can do a lot but how about the other devices .. is the streaming media + server connection intellegent enough to stop and start the stream when ever I like ? (when Phone rings its easy to pause and start playing.. ) also less CPU & power consumption ..
also what do I need to check to use HDMI / Display port playing (intergrated sound..) so whatever I play I want to use it to full advantage ..
