Preffered OS for MP (1 Viewer)

First I want to that all the people involved in the development and support of MP. My experience so far has been mostly hassle free.

I started using MP about one month ago and have been testing, configuring, experimenting and organizing and now am ready to build my first HTPC and integrate into my Home Theater. Currently I have only used MP with XP Corp ed. My question to the forum and power users is "Which is the PREFERRED OS and why"
