This is from a friends setup which is identical to mine in any way, basically a ghost setup...

Latest MP, all latest skins and plugins.

Basically what happens is when the B key on the keyboard or the remote stop button is pressed while watching live TV the system stops responding, not in the sense that is crashes but in the sense that no more keyboard or remote responses are receved.

It seems when I remove the IRcontrol.dll from the processes folder of the plugins section, this does resolve the issue, but obviously then I have no remote control functionality. All logs included.

As well as IFC crashing on you, you have this is system log
    Code:
    "1/09/2010 10:21:27 p.m.";"Application Popup";"(0)";"Information";"Application popup: : \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\hwinterfacex64.sys failed to load";"1073741850"
"1/09/2010 10:21:27 p.m.";"Service Control Manager";"(0)";"Error";"The hwinterfacex64 service failed to start due to the following error: %%577";"3221232472"
    "1/09/2010 10:21:27 p.m.";"Application Popup";"(0)";"Information";"Application popup: : \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\hwinterfacex64.sys failed to load";"1073741850"

The only place this seems to be mentioned anywhere I can see is mini-display plugin.

Can you try and disable mini-display plugin and then launch MP in debug mode and attach logs from that if problem still exists

hwinterfacex64.sys is used by iMON and is not signed so you get those warnings in EventViewer at every reboot, nothing to worry about.
