Preventing UAC confirmations by using Windows Compatibility Toolkit (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm currently using MP 1.2b, but the following problem also appeared with MP 1.1.2.

I'm using Windows 7 x64, UAC is not disabled. I have enabled the "run as admin" flag in the compatibility section of the properties, so I always have to click "yes" when being asked if I'm sure to start MP. So this also prevents a real autostart of MP.

Some time ago, I had successfully applied a solution for this using the MS Application Compatibility Toolkit / Compatibility Administrator: in this application, I've chosen "run as invoker", applied the patch, and that was it.

Now, when trying to use this method, MP is behaving strangely: in the starting screen, it says "version 1.0.2" in the lower left corner, and the software does not work properly - not all menus are available etc.

So, the following is my question:
Does anybody know which option to choose in the Compatibility Administrator in order to achieve the same effect as clicking 'yes' in the UAC message?

i use MP1.2 with win7 x64

i do not choose "run as admin" in the properties, MP works fine without it. so it doesn't pop up a UAC prompt ever, and autostarts every time.

the configuration tool however does give a UAC prompt, but not MP itself.

I can't find the link anymore, but ISTR that this has to do with having old versions lying around. Delete them and the problem should go away.

All of the research I have done suggests that there is no reliable way to do this, apart from logging in as Administrator, or disabling UAC prompts completely (neither of which I recommend!). That said, I also have no problem running MP. It doesn't need admin privileges. In my experience with MP1.20RC under Win 7 (32 bit Pro), only MP Configuration and TV Server Setup need escalated privileges.
