Just today I started trying out Mediaportal. I was trying to builod a mythtv box but ran into driver issues and thought I'd try out a few alternatives. that's why I have the two pchdtv cards, since I was going to use linux, but following the instructions of another post on this forum I was able to get them recognized by MediaPortal. I was able to set things up so that everything seems to be working with a single tuner card, however, problems occur when I try to record from both my tuner cards at the same time.
The sequence is such:
I start recording program A from the TV guide.
It starts recording succesfully ( a file is created for it in My Recordings)
I go to a different channel in the guide and start recording program B.
No conflict is displayed (Media portal recognizes that I have a second card), but the recording for program A stops.
The file for program B in My Recordings starts increasing in size, however if you go and try to play it, it actually contains program A (starting from approximately the point where program A's file ended).
I've configured both capture cards in the setup. Both have all the channels assigned to them. Each card has a different priority level (though I unsuccessfully tried using the same for both as an experiment). And I'm using Windows Media Center Edition with all updates, so multiple ATSC cards should be supported.
Has anyone ever seen an issue like this or have an idea of what might be happening. I took a look in the log files, but I didn't notice anything wrong.
