How can I configure MediaPortal to allow for recording from Composite video ?

    Yes you can.

    Go to setup -> television -> TV Channels -> Add CVBS/SVHS

    That should do the trick

    Message edited since I found out I wasn't following instructions carefully enough and I have it working now.

    After Adding CVS/SVHS as described above by The_Stig I had to choose the "Receive by external settop box" setting in the "External" tab in "TV Channels" ("Edit" the Channel) in Mediaportal Setup program. The SVHS CVBS choices are way at the bottom of the list of "Input via".

    To simplify for other dummies like myself I had to:

    Mediaportal Setup-Television-TV Channels-Select The Channel-Edit-External.

    Once there;

    "Type"="Receive by External Settop box" (drop-down list)
    "Input via"=SVHS CVBS#1 etc. (drop-down list)
    "Channel number on settop box"=Your number
