Hello, first post here, please bear with me :)

I've got a Dell MR268 remote (same as RC61R and RC197?) . It it identical to Philips SRM 5100, AFAIK. I'm using Windows 7 build 7057 and MediaPortal 1.0 updated to the 03-22-2009 build. I've enabled the MCE Remote option. Still the remote does not work (only the black directional keys and OK button function).

What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

Sorry to bump this old topic, but... A few months back I somehow got the remote working, but I cannot remember how!

Now I'm building another HTPC with the same remote, using Windows 7 RTM, MediaPortal 1.0.2 and yet again I cannot make the remote work.

I feel stupid :/ Any help appreciated!

    hi [bo],
I registered specifically to answer your post as I have the same Dell remote and had the exact same problem: after a reinstall my Dell remote no longer worked.

I fixed it by selecting the "Use General HID Device" checkbox as well as selecting the "Use Microsoft MCE Keyboard or Remote". (So, in the MediaPortal Configuration screen, under REMOTE, just go over to the next tab after you select to use the MCE remote and make sure you have the first checkbox "Use General HID Device" checked.

It worked for me, hope it works for you.

Last night I uninstalled Media Center and now at least *that* won't run if I press the green button on the remote. However I still haven't managed to make MediaPortal run and I don't really want to go the IRServer/Translator route, if there's a working MPTray for Windows 7 x86.
