Hello All (MP Newbie),

I have the following device:

PCTV DVB-T2 290e Nanostick HD TV Tuner: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

... which recoginze the HD TV channels ( BBC1, BBC 2 etc..) and I can also see them when I am in the software which comes with the device (rubbish though) but when I do a channel scan, while I can see the channels , all text in the EPG for those channels is garbled (??SA<?KK:mad:??? ) and also I can't see anything when selecting it

If there anything special I need to do for HD TV settings.

As a side question, when I re-scan it will always give me 'no new stations', is it possible to force the existing channles deleted first before rescaning, just in case there is an issue there

Thanks much
Steve

The Freeview HD EPG data is encrypted so that only authorised boxes can display it - a cunning ruse by the BBC to give content providers the sense of security, whilst making life reasonably easy for those of us doing our own thing.

1. Deselect the 4 HD channels in the EPG menu - you don't want to use the DVB EPG for them
2. Enable the WebEPG plugin in TV Server config, map the HD channels (use ITV London for ITV1 HD, not your regional variant) and set the scheduled job to update when convenient.

Because of limitations in TSReader, you'll need to use the DivX ACC LATM codec for audio, as its the only one that works at the moment in MP. Video is whole other issue, although I get by with either Microsoft DTV or ffdshow. This thread may help --> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-bgt3620-dvb-t2-card-where-hd-channels-90945/

Good luck.
