Hello,

somehow mp4 videos do diplay only a black screen, audio seems ok, but no image. So far this has only happened with mp4-videos. It works in mpc though, only in mediaportal it does not.

I have a completely new installed Windows 7 64bit running, and I did install the LAV filters. At first I registered the 64bit filters, but then I removed these and registered the 32bit filters, because I read on this forum that since mediaportal is a 32bit application I'd need the 32bit filters. I also installed the LAV extension in mp.
However, there is no image on mp4 videos.

I'm uncertain on a few points:
-was it OK to install the LAV extension after I already registered the filters on the system? Is there a potential conflict?
-do I need an extra spliiter like Haali? from what I understand the LAV filters come with splitters, and it already works in mpc.

I hope someone can give me some advice here...

What is your codec configuration in MP? The best will be if you try to play one mp4 file and after that post logs :)

just to make sure i removed the previously installed ones and the extension, rebooted, and used the ones from the link in Paranoid Delusion's post. Result: mp4 still without video.

    Codec settings are:
mpeg-2 video renderer: MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder
h.264 Video decoder: LAV Video Decoder
MPEG / AC3 Audio decoder: MPC - MPA Decoder filter
AAC audio decoder:: MPC - MPA Decoder filter

I have attached the logs of my last playback attempt. (I hope I did it correctly...)

It seems that it detect it as music :
    g_Player.OnStarted() M:\Video\Musik\Musik Video Clips\03. Music Videos etc II\music videos\Brian Setzer - Summertime Blues (taken from 'La Bamba'-movie).mp4 media:Music

Could you upload a sample ?
    Thanks :)

yes, i removed the mp4 entry from pureaudio, seems that did it!
    thank you.
strange - why is mp4 a default entry in pureaudio, and even 2 times?

I think there are old audio files with mp4 extension (Mac?).
The double entry is probably a mistake, or made in purpose to give us headache ;)

I think its down to generic naming, if you had a mp3 file would you expect it to have video, why they are not m4a as extension beats me.
