Problem with Music album covers... (1 Viewer)

Having some trouble with 'my music' in MP - basically trying to get an image to be displayed as a folder cover for the artist.
My music is arranged by artist and in that folder are separate album folders. Now 90% of the artist folders do not display an album image and I can't figure it out. I have tried inserting images, making the folder 'display image' the album cover but just won't display in MP. Again the annoying part - I know it works as some of the artist folders are displayed with an image.

See how the Damien Rice and Craig David artist folders have images - I want that for every artist folder basically.

I'm a newbie too, so hope i'm not stating the obvious. You need to put the image you want to display in the artist folder and rename it to folder.jpg

Yeah I've tried that but to no avail thought it might be something simple like this but typical, it wasn;t

You might need to delete the music thumb cache for your new folder.jpg's to display, otherwise it will display what's in the cache.

The thumb location in XP is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Music\Folder
I believe for Vista it's effectively the same folder tree but starts in C:\Users, can't check at the moment though.

Just had a look in the cache and seems to be pretty much empty except for 2 album covers (the ones that are working)
Tried adding a new one but didn't work.
This is real frustrating because I know it works as some of them are

Very stange, I've just recently been doing the same thing and using the folder.jpg is working fine for me.

What settings have you got checked under 'Music Database' in the config? (not sure whether this affects browsing by folder shares, since the settings are database related, but you never know...)
Under 'Use for thumb creation' the only option I have checked is 'folder.jpg'.

Can't believe it was something that simple !! But yeah got it all working now, just got to add all the folder.jpg's
