As Callifo said, if by line-out you DON'T mean optical or coaxial digital-out, then you are never going to listen to AC3 or DTS (not in MP but anywhere).Also the source HAS to have the appropriate extra audio channels (except if you have an audio card that can "upscale" to more channels transparently).
