Synopsis::

I have an AOpen XCCube EA65II with an winfast tv2000 expert TV card.

The capturing card is not reconized by mediaportal setup.
Although in de maidiaportal.log there is an entry.

7-5-2006 11:14:06 device:WinFast TV2000 XP Expert WDM Video Capture. id:mad:device:pnp:\\?\pci#ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_6f05a0a0&rev_05#4&1f7dbc9f&0&20f0#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global

I tried to add the card (6f05a0a0&rev_05) into the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml but this did not solve the problem. Can you please tell me what to do?

Best regards, Marcel

    Hi,

Please start setup, try to add the card and then close setup. Next, post the complete mediaportal.log at http://mp.pastebin.com so we can take a look. Post a link back here to the logfile.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

Take a look at this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=14930&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15. May be that your devide id is not recognized by MediaPortal, you can change it in capturecardsdefinitions.xml, instructions are in this thread. In any case, when you get it to work, you will experiment frome drops and some problems with audio aout of sync, may be that in future releases (i hope) it will be solved... good luck!

In MP setup I got the message: "could not create Graph"
I hope this is not a problem.

Now i am trying to get everthing to work.
    You hear from me soon.

    Thank you all again.

Yep, you are right, i'm also getting that message sometimes in the configurator program (but sometimes not, and i don't know why..) but if you use Intervideo codec or Nvidia PureVideo it should work fine...

    Hello Michell,FiDo, everyone.

When i open "My Tv" I get te folowing message:

    >
    My TV
    ---------------------------------
    Failed to start timeshifting.
    Unable to create graph

    OK
    <

After I have pressed OK the TV is still off.
When I try to switch it on the same dialog is appearing again.
I have intalled the Intervideo codec, and also tried several other codec, but no succes so far.

Q: What does timeshifting need to start up?
Q: Is create Graph someting what directx needs?

I hope that some can help me with this (final;-) issue.

    Best Regards,

    Marcels

    Hi,

Timeshifting basically is just viewing regular TV with a circular buffer (so you can rewind, pause, ffwd TV). MP does timeshifting with the Microsoft Stream Buffer Engine (SBE) and comes with Windows XP by default.

The reason that timeshifting doesn't start, is because MP is unable to create a directshow graph. A "graph" is a collection of directshow filters and components which should eventually connect the different pieces of hardware and software so that you can view TV.

So, you'll need to find out why MP cannot create the graph for your TV card. The graph build is based on the entry in the capturecarddefinitions.xml for your tvcard - the entry you had to change earlier. So maybe reviewing the entry you updated there or posting the mediaportal.log hopefully reveals why it's not working.

BTW, looking @ your support template shows that you've got a 2,4GHz processor. For software type cards at least a 2,8GHz processor is required so it's probably gonna be a difficult task to get it to run smoothly. That however doesn't explain why you're gettingthis message.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

I've disabled timeshifting and it works now (i've a P IV 3.4 Ghz), but using timeshifting it says 'unable to create graph) i can't see anything wrong in my log file... :? Can i use graphedit to investigate? If you give me any tip i will try to find the source of this problem....

    Hello,

    In mediaportal.log

    http://mp.pastebin.com/703494

In mediaportal.log the folowing error's appear:

    7-5-2006 15:57:37 filter capture='WinFast TV2000 XP Expert WDM Video Capture.' check:True
    7-5-2006 15:57:37 filter audcapture='%soundcard%' check:True
    7-5-2006 15:57:37 filter videncoder='LeadTek MPEG Video Encoder' check:False
    7-5-2006 15:57:37 filter audencoder='LeadTek Audio Encoder' check:False
    7-5-2006 15:57:37 filter mux='Leadtek MPEG Muxer' check:False

So when I understand correct, the hwid we have changed in de capturecarddefinitions.xml is check:True ,so this is why i can select a card within MP setup.
The videncoder, audencoder, filter mux entries appear to be incorrect.

I don't know if this conclusion gets me into te right direction, but I hope someone can tell me;-)

    What entries should be correct.?
Where can i check if these filters ar on my system. ?

This link shows the winfast entry capturedefinitions.xml that I have changed..
