Problems creating custom movie views (1 Viewer)

Hello! I have recently started using MediaPortal and so far I am really liking it as opposed to what I used before (Creative's Media Center.....Ugh..). I have MediaPortal 2.3.0. Anywho, I am running into some issues figuring out exactly how to create custom Movie Views. It seems fairly simple, and I'm pretty sure its possible, but I just can't seem to figure it out on my own. Basically what I have is my "My Videos" section divided into two categories, "Movies" or "TV Shows". I am wanting to create a custom view/filter that I can show either all of my Movies or all of my TV shows in alphabetical order, but not both together. The reason in doing so, is when I go to My Videos sections and sort by title, it shows all of my movies plus each episode of each TV show that I have, which is a lot to sort through if you are just wanting to look at movies. I thought to myself, well this should be easy, I can just add a new genre to my TV shows called "TV Series" or something, and then just show all my videos except the ones in that genre. Well, I am looking at the Movie Views section in the configurator and I cant get it to work.

Anyone? Basically all I want to do is create a genre view that shows all genres except one that I define. I was able to create a view/filter that shows all other genre folders except the one I specified but It wont let me enter the folder, like there is nothing in it. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated .

Have you tried just using the shares view and having one folder for movies and one folder for tv shows? Seems to me the easiest way to do what I think you want.

Also with your tv shows....have you had a look at the tv series plugin? It is hands down the best way to view your tv shows. Have a look at this link from the wiki and decide for yourself.

I actually have them sorted that way already, but i was being picky about doing it this way, for reasons that are too long to type out LOL. I have not checked out that plugin, and will definitely do so when i get a chance. Thanks for the reply!!!
