If your recordings are in dvr-ms format, which i suspect they may be, you are stuffed as there is no way to import these, all new recordings are done in ts format (which is the currently recognised format for this kind of recording, and that's worldwide not just MP).
Can only suggest if they are treasured recordings, ie films or TVSeries you change the format of the files and rename them to be recognised by the relevant parts of MP.
