Seemed someone else had problems with mkv files, but this is happening with avi files as well.
I've tried several movies and all but one had this problem, so decided to find out what was doing it.
Moving Pictures finds all the CDs but for some reason the duration is read wrong and it puts CD2 (and 3) to 0, and then when CD1 is done it will refuse to continue since it thinks the file is empty.

I checked the files and CD1 is exactly the same format as CD2, and duration in properties of the files are displayed correctly.

Any idea how to fix this?

Duration is populated after a video file is played, so it is normal for parts two and three to be set to 0 if they have not played before. That is of course unusual that it's not playing the second or third part. I will investigate.

I was able to reproduce the problem Kossu. There were a few other oddities with multi-part playback with this release as well. I think we have the issue resolved though so this will be in the next release (a day or two away).

Problem still exists?!

fforde: Thanks for looking into this.
I am new with using Moving Picture (amazing plugin btw, so thanks for that!!) and I still encounter the same problem as here described with MediaPortal.
Actually my Mediaportal also crashes when trying to jump from CD1-file to CD2-file. In the onfig it also says the duration is 0 for the second parts.
Just want to make sure, there's already a fix and I missed it or you're still working on it?
Thanks again, and have a good day!

Kossu is right, there is a fix for this in 0.6.1. If you are running 0.6.1 and still experiencing the problem, let me know and I will reopen the issue.

Sorry still not working for me

Hello, thanks for your fast reply.
I am sorry to report that my Mediaportal still crashes and doesn't proceed to the seocnd part of my movies.
I am running Mediaportal 1.0.0.0 RC4 and MovingPictures 0.6.1.
In the config of Moving Pictures (again within the config of Mediaportal) the second or third parts are also always having a "duration" of 0. (Movie Manager -> select movie with more parts -> File Details)
I hadn't had any previous version of MovingPicture installed and now just reinstalled it again, though it still ahs the same problem.
Would be great if you could let me know where I am doing something wrong...
Thanks a lot for your help already in advance!
ciao

I don't have RC4, though the duration is populated after a video file is played, so thats no problem. I guess fforde might have to take another look at it.

JackHugo, can you reproduce the error and then post your logs over on the thread for the issue on the Issue Tracker? Or if you don't have a Google Account, you can post them here instead. At the least I would need your movingpictures.log file, mediaportal.log file, and your error.log file.
