Synopsis: Is it normal for MP to use 25% CPU when watching live TV? no matter which video and audio filters i use i have the same problem....i havent tried all combinations, but 25% is about the lowest i get....the problem is the CPU gets hot and the fan spins up quite often...which is loud and needs to be replaced

    Hi Nitro

Yes 25% is about average on a mid-range pc with tv\timeshifting in fullscreen.
Mine swings between 20-50% when operating MP.

so, i'm dreaming if i want this pc to run dual dvb-t cards?
No, not at all - since you can't view two channels at the same time (its the viewing that requires the 25% CPU), then I assume that you will use the second card to record another channel? Recording from a DVB-T card requires very little CPU, since the data is already MPEG2 and it is simply written to disk.... :)
