Hi,

Hope someone can help. I have a logitec progammable remote which is primarily programmed as a MCE remote but with some other stuff as well. I'm trying to program the 'prev' button to do something similar to the 'esc' key on the keyboard but not having much success. It is currently programmed with 'prev item' but this doesn't seem to do the same. Any thoughts?

Also, while trying to do this I looked around for a list of all commands and what they do but I can't seem to find this anywhere, is it available?

Finally, is it possible to get a complete print-oout/listing of the expanded tree strucutre for a remote mapping, i.e. maybe by looking in some background file?

Thanks in advance
Dave

HI,

Its been a while since I posted anybody got any thoughts on this. I'm really looking for the 'previous window' action for the remote. It exists for the keyboard but I just cant find it for the remote. The closest thing is 'prev item' but this doesn't do the same thing and often just doesn't do anything.

Please, any thoughts!

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm using a Logitech Harmony One and have the 'Exit' button mapped to 'Back' and it goes to previous menu just fine.
If your receiver is a clone not a genuine microsoft, you may have to look again in the Logitech database to find the matching profile. For example one of my receivers is made by SMK and in the database I found a remote call SMK-RC6, works fine.

If you have a infrared keyboard that came with that remote you can get the logitech to learn the commands from the keyboard. I have mine programed with an ALT-F4 so I can close things down without resorting to using the keyboard.
If you 'learn' an Escape from the keyboard, that should take you to the previous item.

Regards

Martin

Thanks Martin for taking the trouble to reply and sorry for this delay I was traveling, in fact just up above you in Singapore!

Unfortunately I got rid of my Microsoft keyboard the mousey thing was dreadful, and bought a wireless one instead so that option is out for me.

However, I must admit that in thinking about the problem I had almost come to the same conslusion so it was good to read waht you put. I will now go back one step in the process and make sure my Harmony is actually programmed with the right code, because as you say, if that aint right, then it doest really matter what I do in MP.

Thanks again
