progress bar (1 Viewer)

I'm coming from vista media center so i'm used to certain things.. is there a way to add a progress bar when fast forwarding and skipping ahead.

I'm also using xface skin.. does anyone know if i will get better proficiency without a skin or if there are better performing skins..

And one more thing.. thumbnails is a big thing for me.. how do i get them to work.. i tried some thumbnail plugin but it made my media portal go crazy and i didn't even get the thumbs.. i have a Hugh section of home movies that i want thumbs for..

any help on any of these matters would be much appreciated.

I second the progress bar question. Seems it's available in some skins, but not the defaults like Blue3. A REAL pain when you want to skip forward without fast forwarding (slower method).
