[Rejected] Proposal for MP works either with WMP10 or WMP11. (1 Viewer)

Sometimes, when you work in a big company, due to policies rules, Windows update can be published only by network admins and, routers can lock update process.
Also, when you ask boss for a WMP 11 update, he's true when he answer you :
"Hey, you joke ? Are you sure I pay you for playing with WMP 11 ? I'm sure if you're fired, you will have time to play with".
Then, I had no other choice than creating this patch, for playing with MP at lunch time.

After that, I thought it could be interesting for some users who can't install WMP 11 for some others reasons.

That's why, I would like to know what do you think about ? (it's just a proposal).
Also, this patch could implies some minor changes on MediaPortal Installer.

Unfortunately we need to push the WMP11 to all computers as Microsoft has in great wisdom created a dependency for it in the DVB related patch.

Wow, very interesting.
I didn't know about dependency between DVB and WMP.
I'm sure you can understand that, if I can't have WMP 11 at work, what about to have a DVB card ?
There was a possibility but, I never found a DVB card with serial plug (for replacement with this so bad printer wich can't answer when it's asked).
Was it a dream or, your answer about wisdom seems to be a bit like ironical ? If so, very funny !!
By the way, this forum seems to be a good idea because, it's a bit less frustrating to have more communications with devs, some barriers can be crossed (even if you loose a bit of your precious time, time can be caught with some ideas/code provided).
I hope it will continue this way.
Just for info, we had such a forum in mp-fr website but, it was only for devs members then, all posts wasn't visibles for all members.

Well, it appears, not lucky for this patch but stay tuned for another one soon.
