Yep, Works pretty well. I only get the local channels on QAM using cable tv. You have to make sure to get the 1178 model or it will not work for QAM. Unless sombody else has figured out how to do it with the other models.

Still have not figured out the difference between standard and alternative QAM. in the tv3 setup section.

i have only got the Qam to work in the TV3. in standalone the analog is the only thing if you want Qam you will have to install TV3.

It isn't a different mode or anything. They are simply .qam files that tell MP what frequencies to search. They are located in c:\program files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal TV Server\TuningParameters. You can open the files in notepad and check them out. These 2 lists are very similar and search mostly the same frequencies. Alternative just searches a couple of different ones.

A nice shortcut to do is to find all the frequencies of the qam channels that work using the edit button in tv channels and make you own .qam file with only your frequencies so if you ever have to scan again it will take like 5 minutes instead of an hour.
