I have an Hauppauge HVR-1800 that has an analog and ATSC/QAM tuner & it worked in WMC7/Windows 7. I have it set up as a hybrid card and can get all the analog cable channels (USA-Mediacom), but it doesn't find any QAM and all the options search for QAM256. I do not have a cable box, I am using the cable split directly from the wall with the other line hooked up to a digital tv which receives all channels perfectly. Am I missing something here or is this not compatible? How do I search or add QAM64 channels?

    Hello and welcome Michelle :)

So to be clear: you're 100% sure that your QAM channels are QAM 64 rather than QAM 256?

    Interesting.

I know that QAM 64 is sometimes used. However, this is the first time that anybody has reported having trouble receiving such channels. Therefore I had assumed that tuners just automatically searched for both QAM 256 and QAM 64 at each frequency.

Sorry to say that if your tuner doesn't auto-search QAM 64 then the only way I can think of for you to add your channels (without modifying the code, which is always possible of course) would be to do it manually:

I can't imagine this would be particularly easy unless you're able to acquire the required tuning details from your TV.
