I was curious, does anyone now if it is possible to go about pulling the guide information out of MCE 2005 and load it into MP. I'm wondering this for two reasons my desktop has MCE 2005 but I prefer using MP for various reasons. Also as a possible work around for the loss of the zap2it plugin does anyone know if it would be possible to access the data in the same manner MCE does?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Nevermind I missed the yahooXMLTv.exe thing in the other thread and I'm trying to make that work.

Is it possible to create a program to pull the listings from the MCE source without installing MCE 2005 (similar to YApi2XML).

In Canada, the only free source for EPG data is MCE now!!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

No. There is secure authentication involved between the machine and server when downloading the EPG, so it is not possible to download it directly.

Schedules Direct has just announced a price drop though.

I see.

Thanks for the heads up on Schedules Direct. For $15 over 6 months I just may make the jump.

You should set MP to 0 and 0 and not use the offset option. It was meant for something else. The latest version ignores the offset option anyway.

Release version of the new converter is up (downloader not included): http://www.epgtools.com/MceEpg2XmlTv/MceEpg2XmlTv.2.0.0.0.zip

Quick instructions (I'll write better ones as soon as I get the chance): GB-PVR Forums - View Single Post - MceEpg2XmlTv

C# 2005 source code (includes the source for the Mce.dll and XmlTv.dll): http://www.epgtools.com/MceEpg2XmlTv/MceEpg2XmlTv.2.0.0.0.src.zip

This is a single version that should work on any MCE version. For MCE 2005, the first time you run the GUI, an application config file will be created for the correct references and the app will restart.

This will produce a fully compliant xmltv file as well as the proper DTD.

Source is free to use in any non commercial project. For MP purposes: have at it guys, it's all yours (I probably stole parts from you anyway).

William.
