Hello - I have a question on the Pre- and post recording settings when recording back to back shows on a digital tuner.

So if you have the start recording set to 2 minutes before the program starts and you have the stop recording set to 1 minute after the program ends and lets say you have a show that starts at 6:00 and ends at 6:30. The next show starts at 6:30 and ends at 7:00.

When will the 6:00 show stop recording and when will the 6:30 show start recording?

(and if they are both set to 1 minute - would they basically cancel each other out? so the 6:00 show would stop at 6:30 and the 6:30 show would start at like 6:30:05?)

Thanks

The 6:00 show will start recording at 5:58 and stop at 6:31, the 6:30 will start at 6:28 and stop at 7:01 - back-to-back recordings on the same channel are allowed to overlap :)

So what happens if the shows are on different channels and you only have a single tuner?

    Thanks

You will be notified when you try to set the second recording that it conflics with another recording and will have to choose one or the other.

Is there a way to disable post-recording when the shows are on different channels, instead of having a conflict? If there is no conflict, that's fine, let's do the post-record. Howerve, if it's not possible to do the post-recording, don't do it but record both shows.
WMC was doing it that way and I miss this behavior.

Yes, it is possible to manually set the pre and post recording per schedule... but no it is not possible to do that via the conflict resolution dialog.

I was thinking about a global setting in the Configuration. Something like a checkbox: "ignore pre and post recording if a conflict exist". I guess this might be added to the wish list...
