Hi

I´ve been surfing around the MP forum to find some info about hibernation, and i found a lot of stuff :).
And i have some questions after this surfing.

We usually turn off the tv for the night and take MP to home screen so nothing is running.
What is the best and easyest way to make the htpc hibernate?

I don´t want to turn it off because the epg is updating at 5 in the morning.
It must be able to record and go back to hibernation after this, and the same with the epg update.

When going into hibernation, will the cpu fan and the fan for the case stop?

:D

Hi frank75

I use a single seat TV server set up and have the HTPC hibernate. I use the Power Scheduler plugins on the TV Server part and MediaPortal client. If I leave the HTPC on the home screen it hibernates after 5 minutes. This means all the fans stop, the VFD turns off and the power light goes out. To all intent and purpose it looks like the PC is off.

I have it set to wake up at the default 60 seconds before a recording is set to start (I start recordings 5 minutes before the programme starts) and hibernate after ther server is idle after 5 minutes (so 5 minutes after a recording is finished or it has been left idle on the homescreen).

I use WebEPG at the moment to download the EPG from the internet. I use the WebEPG grabber plugin in the MediaPortal client to wake the HTPC at 04:00 each day and run WebEPG to grab the EPG. As I added WebEPG to the Power Scheduler Processes tab in TV Server it prevents the HTPC going into standby while WebEPG is running. Once it has completed the HTPC hibernates again.

I hope this helps.
