Hi all, newcomer here, just came over from xbmc and had a question about the remote control features on mediaportal on windows 7 ... I had an idea where instead of buying another MCE remote control, I could just use the one that comes with my TV since it has a lot of buttons on there that aren't used + i can control 2 things (tv and mediaportal) with one remote. Here's my remote by the way ( link ). Here's the IR receiver that I bought to accept the remote control ( link ) My question is, how do I configure mediaportal to do all this? Would I use winlirc to accept the codes and if so, what do I do next? Do i add the control codes in mediaportal's remote control configuration? Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks in advance! -ddrj EDIT 1: forgot to mention that ehome drivers were automatically installed when I plugged in the ir receiver EDIT 2: it looks like I can't use winlirc because it uses COM ports and the ir receiver i bought is plugged into the usb port... EDIT 3: maybe I can use the usbuirt to configure the remote? since it's a usb device and pretty much the same as mine? EDIT 4: never mind... found out that winlirc can emulate a com port, however all the com ports don't work. only com1 can get past the learning button but when it comes time for me to press a button on the remote, winlirc will time out and say it didn't receive any signal.. EDIT 5: the ir receiver's not fault, everytime i press a button on my remote, the light on the receiver blinks EDIT 6: other people have submitted lirc configurations for the same tv remote control i'm using, take a look here: http://pastebin.com/b36rHafR i found it from here but have no idea how to put this to use
