As you may or may not be aware, free to air channels ( 7, 9 & 10 ) are all adding new Digital channels during the course of the year.
Are we going to be able to pickup these channels with our DVB-T cards ? Will it be as simple as rescanning for channels ?

    thanx.. :)

I did a rescan the other week and picked up a new channel called OneHD. Didn't know what it was until I saw the adds on channel 10. The scan picked up both the new SD and HD channels, so I guess the unqualified answer is yes.

They've just been broadcasting channel 10 content for the past couple of weeks but I've just flicked channels now and they have a countdown screen saying that it starts new content Thursday night. I think it's all sports.

Also ABC 2 it up and running, different programing to ABC (some shows are aired on both). If you like the morning news ABC2 has a good morning news show.

It's not so much that they're adding new channels, as rebranding them and changing what gets broadcast based on what the new legislation allows them to do. OneHD is just a rebranded Ten HD, and given that they're switching to just broadcasting sport on that channel, it means I'll now be recording some shows that used to be in HD in SD. Not really chuffed about that... Channels 7 and 9 haven't really said what they're going to do with their HD channels - we'll wait and see I guess. ABC will start broadcasting childrens programmes on ABC3, which at the moment is just a simulcast of ABC1.
