After much waiting and fighting the concept of a computer attached to my TV and Stereo, I've decided to take the plunge.
First, thanks to the creators of Media Portal. It looks and feels like a great piece of software. I'm looking forward to using it on a daily basis. Before I ask my question, here's my "HTPC"s specs:
P4-2.0GHz
512MB RAM
4 X 40GB Hard Drives: 10GB for OS/MP, 150GB for Media
WinXP SP2 with all security updates
nVidia GeForce FX5200 128MB video with SVideo out
Integrated Sound Card
Ok, I'm mainly going to be playing music and Dvix files from this computer. So I have no need for a TV tuner/capture card, but I do need/want a remote control. I could not find a Sticky where people listed the remotes that actually work with MP. Could someone start a Sticky thread listing all the remote controls that work with Media Portal? That would be a great addition to the forum, specially for newbs like me. When trying to search for a remote control suggestion, the threads were all over the place and none very convincing. Also, how about adding a howto configure a plugin to the Plugin Sticky? I mean, it lists all the plugins, but what's needed to make them work and other small details are left out. For example, I've yet to find what I need to do to get WebBrowser plugin to work. IE is already installed by default, why not make use of it?
