R4 Visualization running on Mediaportal Startup

When i start Mediaportal the R4 Viz runs on startup and then sits in the background allready initialised, before i upgraded to MP 1.0.1 it used to initialise when i played music. Is there any option to advise the visualization plugins to run when i want to use it and not when i open mediaportal as it makes mediaportal take longer to startup and i have the occasional crash which I think is related to the viz sitting in the background waiting to be used. Sorry dont have any logs as it is just a general question at the moment. Also i really like the R4 Viz and dont really want to use the milkdrop viz. The R4 website is: R4.

Anybody?

It sometimes causes mediaportal to crash with a rasterizer error also, hence why i would rather it run when i play music as it also uses up less resources that way.
