Hi

Really appreciate the work you guys have done on Mediaportal. Got it looking great now, but have one minor prob. When autotuning my DVB-T card it automatically finds all TV and Radio channels as expected, including Radio 5Live and 5Live sports extra. These are the most important radio stations in my life!!! however, although these stations are correctly displayed in the my radio section, Mediaportal does not play anything on these 2 stations. I can play these stations fine through my TV card software (WinFast), and have previously had them working on my digibox, but no matter how many times I've retuned in mediaportal I can never get these 2 stations to work (all other Radio stations work fine). Anyone else seen this prob or know a fix?

Thanks

System:
P4 650
1Gb Ram
1Tb HD
onboard graphics and sound
Leadtek Winfast DTV1000s
Mediaportal RC3 (not TV server version)
Using DVB-T from Crystal Palace (London)
WinXP SP3

Same problem !

I have exactly the same problem... 5 live (and 5 live sports xtra) don't work !
They are tuned in, and "appear" to work (can be selected like other stations) but no sound comes out.
I'm using RC3 (+ latest SVN).

Now here's the thing, these stations play fine in Vista MCE, so should work in MP, listening to the chelsea\west brom match atm.

I would hazard a guess that they're transmitting at a bitrate that MePo doesn't like. I can occasionally get them to work but they're always playing at what sounds like double speed!

    Hi
Firstly thanks to all of you for advice. Finally sorted the radio 5 issue in Mediaportal. Turns out it was the Audio codec I was using (ffdshow). Changed this to the codec that came with my tv card (Leadtec) and bingo, footy back in my life. Bliss. Hope this works with anyone else having this prob.

Interesting about the audio codec, only thing i can think of is it's one of the disabled formats in ffdshow, it must be using the ac3 filters on mine (both part of VistaCodecPack).

Ok the problem with FFDShow audio codec is the libmad filter, if you change MP1\MP2 files to use either libavcodec or mp3lib (latest FFDShow tryouts or VCP5.02 only), then radio 5L works, or alternatively use ac3 filter enable mpeg support under the system tab, this also works fine.

Both these changes need to be reflected in MPConfig\Television\audio codec :)

    Happy listening

    Thanks very much !

Listening to R5 now (Nicky Campbell + Sheila Fogarty) thanks to the tips provided.
I changed MP1\MP2 files to use libavcodec in ffdshow and it worked first time !

    Excellent, thanks.
    Steve.
