Hi,

Since the MP 1.0 version, I've got random freezes in the TV section. I'm using a Terratec Cinergy C pci card with the CI module enabled (which contains an Alphacrypt classic with the 3.18 firmware).

I use the PDVD8 codec (latest patch), for TV and FFDshow for audio.

The freezes last for about 30 seconds, thereafter the picture resumes itself in normal state. Sometimes I then get audio sync problems, which I fix by selecting another channel and then go back.

I attached the TV server and Mediaportal logs, which contains no interesting errors (I think).

Somebody knows how to fix this?

If you need more info, I'm willing to help out... just need to get this issue fixed.

edit: got it on a HTPC from family too, it also contains a Terratec Cinergy C + CI module + Alphacrypt CAM (3.18).

I do read different issues with random freezes with certain TV cards. Could this problem anyhow be fixed in the latest SVN, or do I need to locate a hardware problem?

Hardware:
- Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H rev 1.0 motherboard
- AMD X2 4850e CPU
- 2GB corsair memory (4-4-4-12 timings)
- Terratec Cinergy C + Ci module + Alphacrypt CAM (with 3.18 firmware)
- NVidia 9400gt GPU

Any answer would be very much appreciated....!

Cheers, Frank

Maybe it's the tuner, I have a Cinergy 1200 DVB-C card too, and TV isn't stutter free, neither are my recordings :(

Hey Raytestrak,

When I use the terratec software to watch TV, it also gives glitches (where you can hear the audio give an annoying high-pitched noise), and occasionaly stutters. But it doesn't gives freezes. Maybe MP can't handle those glitches very well... ?

I'll try to get a FloppyDTV (dvb-c) soon, hope it'll resolf all my TV problems.

Thanks! Frank

I've never used the Terratec Software, so I wouldn't know. Let me know if the FloppyDTV works for you, maybe I'll switch as well ... although it's kinda expensive and I only watch/record FTA channels.
