i'm totally with you jawbroken - i've spent SO long getting my music collection just the way i like it that i don't want ANY program except foobar messing with my tags!!!
there might be middle ground though - for instance, how about having just the song filepaths and ratings duplicated in a seperate xml file? then if your music db was corrupted, or the music db format changed, mp could read this information back in after a music import.
or, you could tag your files with a "RATING" tag in a seperate program dedicated to music tagging, and mp could just read this info back on music import...
