I took the plunge and installed 1.1 RC2 today (I think from SVN23491, a beta version of 1.1). Because I wanted to clean up my TV channel listing, and erase some bugs with plugins (Wepepg, XmlTv, BackupSettings) I decided to do a complete install (including registry cleanup) of my settup. Everything went well with the de-install/re-install. In TV config., I was surprised to find the channel listing complete even though I had explicitly tried to erase all files. Webepg and XmlTV are still listed as plug-ins, but most settings were lost. Backup setting does not exist in the plug-in list, nor does it appear in the extension installer. In MP config., everything was as expected: all settings were lost. However, the extension installer doesn't find either Moving Pictures or TV-Series (not 'official', perhaps?). So, in summary the re-install seems to have kept everything I wanted to get rid of, and erased the rest! I'm confused as to why the TV settings appear to have been kept. Further, can someone point me in the right direction to: 1. Cleanup my channel listing (5200 channels would seem to have a lot of duplicates)? 2. Re-install Backup settings, Moving Pictures, TV Series, perferably with the extension manager. Can I recover my old databases to prevent a full rescan? 3. Confirm that I need both WebEpg and XmlTV to get a reliable TV guide? Cheers, SB.
