Re-distributing data and images from websites (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I wanted to start a general discussion on the re-distribution of data and images from web sites.

This has most impact in the area of EPG. A number of people are slowly setup files for the re-distribution of EPG data and there are also a number of logo packs going around.

I think it can be good, because it can improve the MP experience. However, there are copyright issues to consider.

In general when it is done in an ad hoc, Peer 2 Peer way no one can stop it. However, if we were to try and formalise the process then we could have trouble.

What is the best way to solve this problem? Is there a solution ?

I must admit I'm not really too concerned with/over 'copyright issues'. But since a friend of mine is a having a lawfirm which is focussing on 'copyright issues/intellectual rights' I took the liberty of asking. I will get back to this thread with his answer. 8)
