Hi all. Apologies if this has been asked before. Should Moving Pictures be automatically adding new movies as they are dropped into the share when you are using MP? If so, how often does this occur? The last two times I have added movies while MP has been running the did not show after a matter of hours. I had to close MP and reopen it, then they were added immediately.

Cheers
S.

Sutek, everything added to a watched folder would be added immediatly on auto-approval. It seems like the importer was either disabled in the GUI or the watcher wasn't active and didn't came back online for whatever reason. Logs would hold the answer but i think you already overwrriten them by now :)

I've got a new movie to add so I will load the system up first, add the file, and see if it auto-adds. It will auto-approve, it's common (Kung-fu Hustle). I'll post logs if it fails.

Replicated the issue with Kung-fu Hustle. Logs attached.

    - First log: Opened MP, opened MovPic. Added file to NAS. Waited a few minutes. Went to main menu of MP, entered TV-Series, exited and back to MovPic. File did not add.

    - Second log: Shut down MP and reopened. Went to MovPic. New movie Kung Fu was added. Exited.

Note: My files are on my NAS (Synology DS508) shared via mapped drive (Z:\) on the HTPC that MP runs on.

Yeah, it's the NAS. Monitored folders relies on file system links that I've read may or may not work when using NASs, since the NAS would have to report back to xP/Vista when a directory contents changes. Try adding a local folder to the monitored list and add a movie there. It will probably work. That then points away from a problem with MP.

I had a feeling this might be the case.

Feature request: "Scan for new movies" context menu item, like TV-Series does.
