Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to read metadata inside a MKV ?
I've seen a post on this forum who talks about MkvTagger but it seems to be used with MediaPortal 2 ?
Is it possible to display these informations on MediaPortal 1.6.0 ?
Thanks !

Thanks :)
I'm trying MP2 but tags don't appear, only SUMMARY. VLC 2.1.3 can read all metadata without problem...

What tags don't appear? MP2 only uses IMDB ID on movies and TVDB ID, Season and Episode Index on Series. All you need to 100% identify a file... The rest is grabbed "normally" from TVDB or TheMovieDB like any other HTPC software...
On Movies and on Audio I think the full use of tags is a good thing. But on Series this is not that good at all. As series often are edited during lifetime, the tags and the online source don't match any longer. So you need to "re- tag" your videos on every change... That's not that easy, so I prefer to have this refreshed from online. Better is to use .nfo files on this as they are more easy to edit.

The MP2 importer is under heavy reconstruction right at the moment. So all will be change in 1 or 2 month...

I don't know what tags don't appear. It is necessary to be connected to Internet in order to display tags ? My PC is not connected to Internet, so it was the reason to full tag my MKV. Perhaps MP2 cannot read all tags from MKV ?
Does MP 1.6.0/1.7.0 can retrieve informations from Internet or only MP2 ? And what criteria is necessary to display all informations about the movie/serie, only IMDB ID or TVDB ID, Season and Episode Index ?
