Real Noob question, MP and normal TV? (1 Viewer)

Probably some dumb questions but I'm just getting started with HTPC and learning the basics. I want to use my HTPC box in conjunction with my normal TV and not with a computer monitor. I guess my questions are:

1. Can I use MP through a normal TV?
2. Will I still need a TV Tuner card inside the HTPC box?
3. Can I watch DVD's, either stored on the HTPC, or from the DVD player in the HTPC box, through MP?
4. If I hook up digital connection between the MP box and my HiFi DAC will I be able to listen to stored music through MP?

The simple answer to those four questions is a definite yes - but if you need more details on how it can be done, you just need to post more information on the type of TV you want to use and the type of TV broadcasts (analog, digital, cable, satellite, etc) that you want to view ...
