Really stupid lady silver surfer needs setup help..... pleeeeease (1 Viewer)

This is so frustrating, I've lost count of how many hours I've spent trawling this forum, googling etc trying to get this to work, so this is one last try to see if anyone can help me and then I'm going to give up.

I had an old version of MediaPortal working some months prior to the UK digital switchover. I could watch TV and record programs, everything was working fine.
When I tried it the other day the TV was blank so I assumed this must be to do with the switchover. I downloaded MP 1.2.3. and chose new installation. It detected the old one and overwrote some files. I did the scan on the Crystal Palace receiver, it picked up some channels but when I tried the TV it was blank and said BBC One - no signal??

Somewhere along the line, where I've been mucking about with settings, I seem to have changed the TV Server hostname from home-e9606266eb to 192.168.1.103 Now when I scan I'm not getting any channels at all and I don't know how to change it back!! I also downloaded an xml file for the UK, as I said I'm stupid as I don't know where to put it or what to do with it!!

I'm on Windows XP SP3 using a 4 year old Hauppauge DVB-T card. (I had to put a new graphics card in last month, would that have something to do with the problem?)

Any help would be appreciated but maybe I should just move on to something less complicated for me.

I would suggest that you remove all the TV channels you currently have in the TV Server and start from an empty list.

Then re-scan and hopefully help, as I'm guessing you currently have a mess of the old pre-switchover channels merged with the new post-switchover channels

I too would start from afresh... in fact IIRC, I did when I went through Switchover a couple of years back... it was a trying period

I deleted the TV channels as advised and also reinstalled TV Server. This time the scan didn't pick up any stations so double checked the aerial connections and Bingo! one wasn't pushed in all the way. Bit of a senior moment I guess so thanks for the advice.
