Hi!

Newbie question. Say I want to record all movies where Steven Segal acts. Can I put my list of keywords that trigger automatic recording of a TV show? Or is there a plugin for this.

I checked the manual, nuthin!

Not sure about MediaPortal's native ability, but you could try the excellent For The Record which I'm sure will fit your needs
