From what I have read, the Sky+ box does just this i.e. it records the channel in the native (encrypted) stream, and then when viewed the decryption happens. This means that the CAM / Card is only required for viewing and not for recording. If this were possible in MP, then this would allow many DVB-S cards to be used for recording concurrent programs and then only need a single CI / CAM / Card to view the recordings.I understand infinityloop comments about this not being possible due to not being able to redirect the datastream back to the DVB-S card. Is this a definite absolute or has someone seen this being done.Is it worth persuing further? It would be nice to be able to get "equivalent" capabilities as the sky+ box, as without being able to record one program while watching another (with a single card) will be too limiting for many users.
