In RC3 and now in RC4 the recording section contains bugs.
I hoped it would be gone in RC4 but unfortunately not.

I just upgraded to RC4 went to the epg, selected Third rock from the sun to record on every time on every channel.
Now when the recording should start, the REC symbol pops up in the left upper corner, as it should. But no recording is started!

Nothing shows up in the recording section, nothing shows when you look at currently runnning recordings.
After a couple of seconds the REC symbol disappears....and pops up again after a few seconds. This continues until the end of the supposed recording. The result is that nothing is recorded.

The planned recordings section shows 2 entries (don't know if thats correct). And in the TV server config also 2 entries are shown, one for 'once' and one for every time...
Watching other channels is also impossible during the supposed recording because every time the REC symbol pops up again, live tv is stopped (when the REC symbol is gone for a few seconds, you can quickly start live tv...until the REC symbol pops up again).

I hope this get solved quickly because this really is a major bug!
MP is unusable for me now because its so unreliable now...

logs attached.
ps. I know how to make a screenshot (F11) but how can I post it here?

Looks like something wrong with recording path config
    Code:
02-06-2010 23:19:05.88 Recorder: RECORD SetVideoAudioObserver observer ok
    02-06-2010 23:19:05.88 [B]Recorder:unable to create file:'E:\My Recordings\Comedy Central \3rd Rock from the sun 2010-06-02\3rd Rock from the sun.ts[/B]' 3
02-06-2010 23:19:20.92 Recorder: RECORD Stop 'E:\My Recordings\Comedy Central \3rd Rock from the sun 2010-06-02\3rd Rock from the sun.ts'

    Check it and report back

it looks like it doesn't happen with recordings on other channels...I see there is a space behind the channel name 'Comedy Central '...could that be it, that Windows automatically deletes this space and MP gets confused because it can't find the 'Comedy Central ' folder? Never had any trouble with it before though...
I will check this out later this evening.
    Thanks for your fast responce!

    Hi there,

Looks like you have a space after "Comedy Central" eg "Comedy Central \3rd Rock from the sun"

Windows does not support this (eg if you create a directory with a space at the end, windows removes the space)

Either change your MePo config and remove the space, or check your directory structure and make sure its valid

    J.

    Got it
    Only on series recordings.

    More precise Bug description:
Spaces are trimmed only for last subfolder.
