Record only new shows (1 Viewer)

I have mediaportal setup and running very well. So far it is AWESOME. I have TV Server setup and the Schedule using WebEPG. When I record a show the advanced options are a little confusing for me, can you help me out? Which option should I choose to record new episodes (not repeats/reruns)?

Wow no response? Cmon guys I know this can be done. If you have not tried it, MCE can do it (anywhere in the world I believe) with no problems..

Under recording and general tab there is an option to prevent duplicate recordings but this is dependant on your EPG source having series/episode data available

So you mean anything which is a repeat ever? whether or not it has been recorded? Does you EPG data tell you if a program is a repeat or not?

I think you would need 4therecord installed to search the description of the episode for the word rerun/repeat and not record it if rerun/repeat was present in the description.

MediaPortal has the option not to record the same episode twice as long as the episode number or name is in the EPG and you leave the episode recording in the recording folder.

Ok, I have WebEPG and of course MP with TV Server already up and running. Can I just install for the record and if so is there any special steps to hook it into what i already have?

nevermind, For the record doesnt work with latest MP I think. I am using Zap2it and XMLTV...

that depends on what you mean with "latest MP".
It works with all MP official releases.

I can imagine it will not work with the latest self compiled MP SVN version since they must cater for the new version compatibility check. And I must also say I have not had time recently to look on the ForTheRecord forums, maybe a SVN compatible TV plugin is available there.
