Hi all, just wondering whether anyone else has come across a similar problem with recorded tv files.
When viewing recorded tv files through, surprise surprise, "recorded tv", all of the programs show up fine, but there are two problems with the information displayed:

firstly, and most importantly, the "date" field for every program is set to todays date - so when I looked at them on Friday, they all displayed the 1o novmeber as the date, and last night, they all displayed 13 November - regardless of when they were recorded.

Secondly, and of only minor importance, is that the episode or sub-title field of all fo the recorded files is set to "un known" even though several of the programs recorded had sub-title information displaying in the epg.

I have played around with custom recording paths and naming conventions, but it does not seem to make any difference.

Am I missing something simple here?

Thanks

It sounds like something happened to your tv database. If the database is removed, it reads all the files in your recorded tv folder and displays them just as you describe. Maybe you upgraded MP without keeping the database, or something corrupted it.

If this is the case, your new recordings should show up fine. If they don't, there might be a problem writing to the database. In that case, first try renaming the database file and MP should create a new one for you. Going from memory, the file is under <team mediaportal folder>\Mediaportal\Database\

Thanks

Cheers Jetboy, I appreciate you taking the time to help out - I'll have a look - I did play around with the tvserver, installed and then uninstalled, so that probably messed with the whole thing. I think it is more likely a problem writing to the database, as every day the dates are rewritten.

Thanks

Still no luck

Still having the same issue with my recorded tv database - it seems as if for some reason the record date is constantly updated to the current date. I have updated the CVS, and cleared out the database and rebuilt it, but am still getting the same problem. Any ideas?

    I guess this is related.

I took the plunge and moved the TVserver from the media center PC in the living to the media server in the attick. Most things seem to work fine, but ...

There is a huge collection of recorded TV from the children. I copied it to the new location for recorded TV (3 hours over a 1GB network) and imported it to the new database. That works, but unfortunately the date shown for the recorded series in MP is the date of creation, not the date of change, so they all show today's date. My kids are very upset, they can't find their favorate stuff anymore.

Anybody an idea how to change this?

Would it not be more logical to show the date the file was last changed?
