Recording Conflicts Cause Poor/Sluggish Performance

MediaPortal would display a dialog box saying this show conflicted with another scheduled show at a particular date & time. As I'm trying to use it as more of a TiVo season pass type system, I did not want to deal with all of the individual conflicts and instead want the system to rely on its priority of individual shows to decide which to record and which not to.</p><p></p><p>Not knowing which option to choose, I selected "Ignore conflict" towards the bottom of the list - hoping that MediaPortal would figure it out at the time it needed to record - rather than choosing which show to keep for this particular conflict. This resulted in 2 undesirable problems. First, if say 3 shows are scheduled to record at the same time, it would record approx. the first 5 seconds of 2 of the shows, and then record the other show in full. The second problem is that the system was running great (fast & responsive) before I put these shows in the scheduler, and now its causing MediaPortal to run very slow or even freeze. It can take minutes to stop playing a recording and switch back to Live TV, for instance.</p><p></p><p>Was I supposed to choose a different option besides "Ignore conflict"? I didn't want it to ask me about every day & time how to handle the conflict - just want it to choose for its self based on show priority. Is there some proper way for me to accomplish my goal without causing MediaPortal to become sluggish/unstable? I would greatly appreciate any help that you can give, because I really want to use MediaPortal but I may have to switch if I can't resolve this issue.</p><p></p><p>Thanks in advance!</p><p></p><p>P.S. I'm not using the TV-Server because I did not want the overhead of an SQL server.
